Audi Adopts LTE Technology Early

The future of in-car connectivity is here with the launch of the new LTE technology. You may not know what LTE stands for yet. Long Term Evolution is the next generation of mobile internet in-car connectivity. The new technology makes it possible to transfer significant amounts of data to your car.  This includes audio and video files, including HD movies to your car.

Soon, German automaker Audi will officially be the first brand to bring the lightning-fast connectivity of LTE data transfer as a standard inclusion for many of its new Audi models.

Audi is already offering this technology for the Audi A3 Sportback model, via Audi Connect. The German luxury car manufacturer plans on adding LTE to the rest of the new Audi fleet by early November. LTE is expected to take on the auto industry by the end of 2014.  Audi is getting ahead of the game by adopting the technology early.

Other functionality of LTE connectivity include conversion of your Facebook, Twitter feeds and more into speech, making them easy and safe to access while on the go. Passengers are able to connect mobile devices to the integrated hot spot (via a SIM card) and surf the web, independently, all while connected with lightning-fast access.
