In this 2016 Audi A3 vehicle review, we'll help you learn more about this vehicle's performance, interior, and safety features.

Audi A3 Performance Review

Drivers opting for the standard 2016 A3 will find a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine (170 horsepower) firing on four cylinders. The engine offers adequate power for merging onto busy roads or passing slower traffic on the highway, but you can get more power from the available 2.0-liter turbo engine (220 horsepower).

This optional four-cylinder engine, along with the base engine, comes mated to a six-speed S tronic® dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Audi quattro® all-wheel drive is available, which helps the Audi A3 tackle low-traction driving conditions as well as tight cornering.

Interior Specifications

The cabin of the Audi A3 has been carefully arranged to provide a driver-focused experience. This compact car includes a number of luxurious technology features and premium materials, typically found on luxury sedans.

For instance, you'll find the MMI® touch, which uses a touch-sensitive scroll wheel to provide control of the audio and information systems. This available feature is the first of its kind and makes selecting your favorite radio station or playlist or getting directions quick and intuitive.

Other interior features include dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a multifunction steering wheel. You'll even get a 12-volt power outlet for keeping your portable electronics charged when you're on the go.

Audi Safety

Keeping you and your passengers safe is the most important job of any vehicle. The 2016 Audi A3 takes on this responsibility by providing a suite of standard safety features in addition to an advanced collection of available driver-assistive technology.

Standard safety features include a tire pressure monitoring system, front passenger occupant detection for airbags, and Electronic Stability Control with Secondary Collision Brake Assist and Traction Control. With Secondary Collision Brake Assist, the Audi A3 attempts to reduce the risk of secondary collisions after an initial collision has been detected by automatically applying full braking pressure.

The optional driver-assistive features include Audi Side Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Active Lane Assist. Active Lane Assist is used to detect driving lanes and gently guide the vehicle back into the proper lane should you begin to unintentionally drift off course. Adaptive Cruise Control measures the distance between the Audi and the vehicle directly in front of it in order to maintain a predetermined following distance. The system can even slow down or stop as traffic conditions change. Finally, Audi Side Assist uses radar technology to monitor the vehicle's blind spots.

Take the Audi A3 for a Test Drive

You've learned a lot about what the 2016 Audi A3 offers. Now all you have to do is get behind the wheel and try one for yourself. Schedule a test drive at your local Audi dealer, like Audi Devon, and be sure to ask about all of the standard and optional equipment available.
