Audi Announces Possible Addition to the Q Family in 2016

Here at YBH Audi we like to keep our ears to the ground for all of the latest Audi news that gets picked up in the media. Most recently, there have been a lot of rumors swirling around about the future of the "Q" family of crossovers. We try to avoid automotive gossip when we can, but this story is just too exciting to let go.

Earlier this year Audi announced that it has formed some extensive plans to greatly increase its share of the luxury and performance auto markets in the next few years. Considering the skyrocketing popularity of crossover utility vehicles, it is easy to imagine our favorite German automaker growing its line beyond the popular Q5 and Q7 models.

Those suspicions were further confirmed last week, when word got out that Audi is now planning on introducing the Q1 CUV for the 2016 model year. This new crossover would be the entry-level model to the CUV family much like the upcoming A3 will be for Audi sedans.

Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management at Audi, spoke about the Q1 saying, "The Audi Q1 is part of our broad-based strategy. It is designed on the basis of the modular transverse engine concept that will round off our Q series at the bottom."1

We are very excited to follow the next steps in the development process, and you can be sure to continue receiving the latest Audi news by following our blog. If you would like a more hands-on learning experience, we invite you to stop by the YBH Audi showroom any time to ask some questions and even take a new or used Audi out for a test drive. Our dealership is located at 4940 West Chester Pike Edgemont, PA. We hope to see you soon.
